Careful by Joshua Nkwana

Poem

in childhood:
careful means nothing;
just play around.

in teenagehood:
careful means do it;
the only way to understand the language of fire
is through burning.

in adulthood:
careful means careful;
grown-ups know well when it burns
or broken
by staying away from it.
