Crippled by Adri Buys

Poem

I live with ghosts and skeletons
A breakage of yesterday
buried in a “thing” that resembles a suitcase
sealed with souvenirs of tears
I hardly look over my shoulder anymore
to see if your feet are still following me
I have since, ceased to care about camaraderie
I dwell in thoroughly lived through emotions
derailed “oblivion” washed away into drunken silence
Life is now just some hazy views
of light too sharp for my eyes
I hide behind barriers of broken flesh
that left a scar too deep to patch
this for now is what I call “me”
another broken story
making love to my empty dreams
