Poet Bio

What crumbs we are compared to loaves
of kneaded expectations
And yet we’d have them scrounge for lifetimes
Sticking to their famished fingers
Feeding their little minds with tasteless worries

We’d love nothing more than to lie on your tongue
and disintegrate into what we’ve become

Poet Bio

Carice is a romantic turned cynic turned recovering cynic living in an extended metaphor. She writes when the need arises which is all too often. She’s a student of Chemistry at the University of KwaZulu-Natal by day and an avid reader in between.
