Hangover breakup by Raphael D’Abdon

“last night you were fantastic”
she said
as she opened her eyes
her breath heavy with
boozy morning fumes

“last night i slept with your sister”
i replied
from the depth of my own hangover

the conversation that followed
ended up in a lifelong rupture
between my girlfriend
and myself

i wonder in which terms
she is with her sister
