Little Bird by Catharina van der Mescht

Poem

I see you broken little bird
With your wings clipped
Standing on the verge

They have taken away your name
Your song and all you had to say
It has always been their fickle game

But rise up and take flight
Shout your name until your lungs are raw
Give them one hell of a fight

I see you broken little bird
With your wings clipped
Standing on the verge…
