Poetic Thursdays Fourth Birthday Showcase (27July 2017)


Over the years Poetic Thursdays has become a noteworthy stage for both poets and live musicians. It provides young, upcoming artists with a platform to showcase various, uniquely crafted works and gives them the opportunity to engage directly with a critical audience.

To date many established and revered artists have showcased on Poetic Thursdays , making it Soweto’s premium poetry space. Through proven hard work we have managed to showcase world class talent,

Poetic Justice(Founder): “I wanted to form part of a meaningful cultural institution. One that will disturb the status quo and impose itself, it would belong to the people, through the people. I think as a concept it challenges anyone who comes in touch with it ,to want to step up in a way they never have before”


Poetic Thursdays is an addition to the original Poets in Offices concept that has ,over the last 2 years, showcased over a 100 poets , amongst it some of the biggest names in contemporary poetry.


On the 27th of July 2017 Poetic Thursday Nights will celebrate its fourth birthday,while also making a return to the prestigious Soweto theatre, whom it recently partnered with. As usual this promises to be a once in a lifetime experience one wouldn’t want to miss out on .
