Poet Bio

The people next door
Don’t care much about philosophy
They don’t care
About this collapsing economy –

Every Saturday morning
The boy next door
Puffs a cigarette outside
While talking soccer with his friends
His mother joins the topic too
While washing
her husband’ work clothes –

The people next door
Hardly talk about our declining country
or the failing rainbow nation
they seem to care much
about how to survive
each day of their lives –
