As we head towards South Africa’s Woman’s Day on the 9th of August, we bring to you
We are womanhood, we are sisterhood. We are Love. 9 Phenomenal poets, artists & lovers of life.
Phenomenal 9 is a gathering of female poets, lovers of life and believers in love. We are wild flames, wild souls who burn with passion and creativity. Wild is real and wild is our home. We are here to reflect each other, to help each other and many other women who struggle with their body, self-esteem and self-image. Teaching true love so the daughters of Ra can finally accept their unique beauty and their worth. Turning self-love into a habit. We are more than just poets, we are prophets who tell our truths through Spoken word. Deliberately invoking the feral famine essence of our existence. Manifesting a life of happiness through connection, intuition, feeling and receptivity.
WHAT DO WE AIM TO ACHIEVE?
- To overthrow previously assumed patriarchal hierarchies who threaten to dominate and subsume our exquisite and infinite nature. We are womanhood, we are sisterhood.
- To promote the protection of the girl child and remind her that her beauty is more than her flesh but its soul deep.
- To be the driving force for women to believe that not only through art do sisters stand but in various career paths as well.
Phenomenal 9 is doing a one day tour on Women’s Day. 9 Aug. 12-4pm at Top of Africa, Carlton Centre, Johannesburg. 12-4pm at Next Door, Vilakazi Street, Soweto. 3-6pm U-The Space, Sunnyside, Pretoria.
