Where’s Amy? by Tshepi Makhatha

Poem

It’s weird to hear her laugh
weird
hearing her soul seep out
through her smile.
She’s an amalgamation,
I’m entangled in her stasis
draw to her complexes
crying for her breasts
and milking her concessions.

Feed me
Feed me your spirit
Feed me some grace
Feed me your spirit
So I can smile like you did that day
