We hear of drug addicts
And we hear of drug peddlers
We hear of gunshots
And we hear of fatal shootings.
Buildings were set on fire
The avengers did not tire
Shopkeepers lost out
in the central business district
Of Pretoria.
When shops got looted
The police made arrests
I write. I write poetry.
