3 Generations In Love by Sibulelo Manamatela

Poem

a summer drunk sky
laying his head on Gogo
the first of two suns
to colour her lips darker
to kiss her and ask for more

a summer drunk sky
once reflected in dad’s eyes
cradles umama
through decades of loneliness
colours her laughter sunlit

a summer drunk sky
colours my heart bright yellow
heart remains sanguine
believes love belongs to her
basks in his admiration.
