Word N Sound has single-handedly brought back some energy and cool factor to the young poetry seen of Johannesburg. And what’s awesome is that they don’t just have regional ambitions. After breaking out in Cape Town on Tuesday and running a #CreativeHustles workshop on Thursday, the real show starts tonight with:

Natalia Molebatsi, Mutle Mothibe, Nova Masango, Andrew Manyika, Makhafula Vilakazi, Mpho Khosi, Vangile Gantsho with a musical showcase by Bongeziwe Mabandla.

Open Mic Poetry League
5 of Joburg’s most exciting emerging spoken word talent will vie for the coveted 2013 Word N Sound Open Mic Champion title.
The top five contenders for this year are Mandi Poefficient Vundla, NoLIFE, Elysium Garcia, Mapule Mohulatsi and Lucas Pilgrim Serei.
