Poet Bio

I’m old enough now
To be forgotten
By those
That I have
Befriended
Bewildered
Confused
I sit here now
Still
Wondering
A device
Too often employed
I have become a memory
Fading fast
Is the reality
Of this failing state
Confused
I cough too much
Is this, too, a sign
Of my time?

Coffins
Cough
Silently before
They sink
Into the ground
Mouths agape
With a dry
And final retching
That none can hear

When the writhing is done
There is only the quiet
Silence of what could have been
Descending
My words too
Have been erased
Not even publication
Is permanent
They don’t burn books
Anymore
They switch off servers
And with them
How we sought
To make sense
Of truth

In all things
There are cycles
And in all cycles
There is entropy
As well as
Manifestation
Everything
Will come
And go
And come again
As something else
The beginning
Is the end
And it is in this end
That forgetfulness
Ascends to knowing
Something new

My flesh will fade
And I cannot exist
Forever
And so
The flow of time
Will take me
To where it takes
All else
Beyond memory
And monuments
In the ground

Yet I resist the Nothing
With each strike
Upon a key
Hammering myself
Desperately
Into eternity
Well-aware
That all I am
Is an echo
Of an echo
In the void
Stretching
Ever outward
Until I am
No more
Than a figment
For you
To forget
