the weight of her smile
unwavering
relentless
ever bright
and warm
carried our spirits towards the moon
on the darkest of their nights
and they came back to us
decorated with stars
where once they had scars
the lightness of her heart
become our place of refuge
of rest
a home away from our broken homes
where our souls came to offload
their heavy burdens
before we happily drifted away
to lands new within
where fresh hopes blossomed
each morning with the rising sun.
