Ali Scotty is a poet from Zanzibar, Tanzania. He holds an MSc Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh. He is an assistant lecturer of Literature at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA). He teaches literature courses such as African Poetry and Literary Criticism to undergraduate students. In his spare time, he likes to write English and Swahili poetry. Ali Scotty is interested in Contemporary African poetry, experimental poetry, psychoanalytic criticism in poetry, and poetry of pain, diaspora and migration.
