the name Paula is the feminine form of Paul,
which means the small one.
However, in Finnish,
Paula is more than this fragile body:
the name derives from the word paula
(/paʊlʌ/),
which means a strong lace
and a trap.

Poet Bio

Paula Puolakka (1982) is a Beat poet, writer, and MA (History of Science and Ideas.) On 5/20 and 4/15, she was the guest editor of The Ekphrastic Review’s “Throwback Thursday.” On 5/21, her poem was, also, chosen to be a part of The Ekphrastic Review’s “challenge-response” publication.
