african son by morula wa kutukgolo

recite your story african son.
tell how far you’ve come,
just so you rise on my window.
recite the journey that wore you out,
the african journey that brought you to me today.
shine bright, african son now that the curtains of my hut
i’ve opened.
yet recite still how many mountains you’ve climbed,
how many rivers you’ve crossed
just so you rise into my world.
