Poem

When we replace the sun
with an artificial one,
it’s the same as trading a warm-hearted person
for a poster of a movie star.

Poet Bio

Paula Puolakka (1982) is a Beat poet, writer, and MA (History of Science and Ideas.) Her academic article (in Finnish) can be found through Hybris (3/2020, Tampere University) and her latest poems through Spillwords Press. In March 2021, Joyride Tarot (Seattle) will publish some light reading from her. Puolakka’s realistic fantasy story “Kuitti” (Varjorikko 1/2020) is a nominee for the distinguished Atorox Award, 2021.
