Be Careful by Samantha Maposa

Poem

Be careful
For I am self-assured
Be careful
For I am brilliant
I am brilliant
I am brilliant – I am the north star
I glimmer in the sky – I am bright
Like the sun my reign is long
Your kids, kids, kids, kids, will say – she was brilliant
I am brilliant
The five year old genius
A cure for a chronic disease
I am the immune blood
The strong woman
I am brilliant
The last diamond – uncut, intense, vivid, virtuoso
Nobody whispered it to me
But my soul roared like lion clouds
You are brilliant
And that’s how I stand
