Because It Is Africa Day by Francis Conlon

Poem

Declare our thoughts this Africa Day,
Dreams and wishes do abound,
Memories, too, are to be found,
Amid good histories real and fey.

Echoes and stories can be heard,
From distant lands with blue skies, too,
Opening destinies with freedom’s view,
Captured with echoes of a sacred word.

Ahead are still lands and dreams,
The view from tops of rugged hills,
To bring reality to what just seems.

Thoughtful space to show a will,
‘Mid the flowing powerful streams,
With powerful visions to fulfill.
