Sitting on the rocking chair
Looking into the beautiful blue sky, mulling over
too many truths.
Truth that all shall end, all shall pass.
All relationships,
every situation and all feelings.
Deep in thought, the rocking slows, inviting truths I’ve been running away from.
Control might as well be an illusion.
Then with a sigh, the next realistion swept in;
failure, abandonment and rejection
is inevitable. So whats the point of fearing?
I kept on pondering on more hard truths.
If it is meant to be, it will be.
Destiny always prevails,
and dear old change is a guarantee.
But the one truth above all else;
Love is the universal language.
The rocking halted, concluding my reflection.
All I can do is to carry on rocking and accept it,
It’s what being human is all about!

Dear BL Dineo.
Thank you for the beautiful poem. The ideas are familiar from many stories, poems, and songs, yet, the lines don’t seem to be “borrowed.”
Have a beautiful day!
With best regards,
Paula
