Beware of Sharks! by Beula Lewis

Poem

A shark sniffs the air,
seeking its prey.

Smiles are deceit,
hugs weave illusions,
until its grip tightens,
and it bites, no matter
how fiercely you fight.

A shark’s aim
is to extinguish the light!

To trust a shark
is to tread blindly
into a darkened alley,
where shadows feast
on the unsuspecting.
