I tread carefully for I can sense the web of friendship holding us together breaking

Can we ignore this feeling?

I walk on eggshells for our days as friends are numbered

Can we freely hold hands?

I tiptoe around the ever rising feelings within me threatening to burst

Can we freely hug?

I turn a blind eye to the vibrating feelings about to erupt

Can we innocently touch?

I mourn the death of our friendship and embrace the birth of our love

Can we innocently kiss?

I tear off the sails on this ship called friendship and let the love flow carry me to your arms

Can we move beyond friendship?
