Bicycles and Us by Thompson Emate

Poem

Up the hill,
Down the hill,
Our legs are in motion,
It’s a joyful devotion.

A bicycle for me,
A bicycle for you,
We ride side by side,
With our eyes and minds as our guides.

Twilight casts shadows on the day,
Our path gradually fades from the luminous ray.
Home beckons us near,
Where dinner and restful sleep await, bringing cheer.

A ride in the morning,
Or a ride in the evening,
Promotes healthy living,
And banishes gloom and lethargy.

A bicycle for a loved one,
A bicycle for everyone,
Together, we can turn back the hands of the ageing clock,
Keeping greyness at bay.
