We tend to live life inside the box:
Day after day, year after year,
Shunning the sunlight in fear
That it will show us the truth of things.
We eat the leaves with gratitude,
While never ceasing our spinning,
The products of our work underpinning
The entire value of our existence.
When the lid is pulled back
There is no attempt to break free.
It is then painfully clear to see
How easy it is to rob the blind.
