Poem

No peace in Oslo
Two conflicting world views
On a head-on collision
The Cause is a two-course meal

Prosperous state
From among the richest turned poorest
Sky-rocketing prices
Flying higher than Mount Everest

So which group of poets will fly
To Havana business class
On a narco-tourist visa
When Laureate Machado paddles out
Of Caracas
In a small boat?
Not Maduro dancing to the sound
Of maracas
Across rough seas at midnight
Soaked wet
In freezing temperatures
To collect a peace prize

There is no dignity in seeking asylum
True patriots prefer to die on home soil

Nobel Peace Laureate
I wish you peace of mind
