Boy Heal by Patience Labane

Poem

How can I bloom in your tragedy?
Where else was I supposed to know the glory of my petals if not in the mirror of my own life?
How you love being loved but despise beauty, romance, and affection,
You treat love like it’s a tragedy of life, yet you don’t know how to be alone in case you’re met with a part of you that wishes to be held.
How else would I have known my own light if I stayed in your darkness?
You’re so ashamed of your own reflection, so you learned to focus on my imperfections to make me feel unworthy of the beauty I know I am.
You are so detached from the beauty of life, you only see dead things, not even church hymns can help you heal
I don’t know what to do for you anymore,
So I going to leave and choose me.
