I first saw Vuyelwa Maluleke performing on the DFL 2012 stage.

And yesterday it was exciting to see her named as one of six shortlisted poets from around Afrika.
The other five poets are – Viola Allo from Cameroon; Inua Ellams from Nigeria; Amy Lukau from Angola; Nick Makoha from Uganda and Liyou Mesfin Libsekal from Ethiopia.
The winner will be announced on 12 May 2014. Good luck to all the poets.
