Consume the Pain by Paul Zietsman

Poet Bio

Why does this pain not abate,
yet, brings beauty with its presence
When will this balance be paid,
how long remains of this sentence

Is there mercy yet to come,
even a moment of respite
Or is this the total sum,
the future looming in the night

Maybe a chance at penance,
an expectation born from hope
Freedom found in acceptance,
forgiveness, complete in its scope

In time will be the answer,
revelation brought by patience
Peace for the lonely dancer,
received in life’s perfect cadence
