Could you ever be too careful,
when you try not to fall,
into the alluring pit of love.
Could you ever be too wary,
when you try to avoid the heartbreak,
that this bitter sweet feeling could lead to.
Could you ever be too meticulous,
when your heart whirls rhythmically,
to the sound emanating from the talking drum; love.
Could you ever be too mindful,
when your thoughts are clouded,
by the thoughts of a person whose mind you can’t read.
Could you ever be too prudent,
when your heart is at stake,
and your tears have overflown in the past?
