today we are forced
to modify our dreams
dream less and less
of economic freedom for all

today we are forced
to hide our thoughts of disappointments
in this half freedom land
and its torturous tales of rage
raging in silence
against lost hope
and empty promises of cadres

today we are forced
to whisper amongst ourselves
about callous cadre greed,
fearing to be targeted
and tortured for bleeding out in public
for the wounds we carry deep inside
were meant to be this government’s top secret –

Poet Bio

Kgosietsile Dintlhoane is Mangaung born poet, who writes poetry to voice out agnies and frustrations of the voiceless. He lives In Bloemfonten, Lourierpark with his wife, Bongiwe, Daughter Kgomotso and their dog bu the name Ngugi, his first born daughter, Reitumetse lives with his mother.
