Drowning by Mpho Molekoa

Poem

The dark looks on while hands slide deep down a hole in the ground.
Great light of day overcomes this dark, silent peril.
Dull
Dark
Deep…

If you ever see a peculiar portrait of a neighbour
Appearing to drown
Step closer… dive in!
Take both hands!
Take matters into your own hands. Quickly!
For who knows between you and them if an angel has arrived?
