Dying Dreams by Lerato Thai Tsotetsi

Poem

You took an oath
To never let me be something of the shadows
Consumed by cobwebs and befriended by dust
Something not good enough, left to rust
Corroded by the rain
That you’d always let me paint my pain
No matter how pale or plain
It too deserves to shine as bright as the morning star
Yet, here I am mourning my demise
