Even The Trees by A.D. Labuschagne

Poem

A Rabbi, once heard
Is quoted,

“Every blade of grass has its own angel…”

Surely the Watchmaker engraves
His signature,
leaves His mark
upon His creation.

Jesus told His followers
to consider the lilies…

To look at the birds of the air…

To think about the mustard seed…

Even David, the prophet, king and poet
Told us to look towards creation
For the mark of Him who made it all…

The mountains, the roaring of the sea
Every flower, every tree…

Even the trees worship God,
Like gnarled witnesses,
Arms stretched out like during our service
On Sunday morning
Reaching to infinity…

Reaching out to an infinite God
Who paints the skies with His love for us…

All of Creation worships Him.

Even the rocks cry out His praise.

The trees clap their hands with joy,
The fields rejoice,
And the mountains burst with song…

All of Creation worships Him.

Even the trees…

Yes, so will I.
