Poet Bio

society insists we
pledge our allegiance
to appearing busy
to feel validated

you’re soul thirsty
so thirsty
to prove
your worth

doing thing after thing
rushed to accomplish
spirit torn apart

producing no fruit
constant battle
lack of peace

stop

quench that thirst

nurture the
dry well in your soul

fulfil your purpose
cultivate your dreams
serve yourself

see the seeds
grow into fruit

Note:
This is an erasure poem I wrote while researching the prompt. I took a few words from each paragraph of my source article and rearranged them to produce this. Source article: http://embraceherlegacy.com/5-ways-to-protect-your-peace/
