I’m dropping in
to draw the line
and tell you
that you were always on my mind:
it doesn’t mean that
my visit is “fine” or
that it’ll make you smile.
However, to change the course of things
is to make that splash:
to sprinkle Holy Water on your gremlins
is the same as
creating a whole new force,
an effective bunch of
“Gizmo Theodores.”
You wrote the revolutionary words to
dodge a bullet:
your life in prison is not a picnic.
However, the darts of the mind
– the impacting words –
spoiled a gang, or three,
and my job is to correct the history of
your academic credibility.
Dedicated to Mr. Kaczynski.
Paula Puolakka (1982) is a Beat poet, writer, and MA (History of Science and Ideas.) In March, a site in “Philly” promised to publish her piece: however, people lost nerve and confidence and canceled the deal in silence. In April, however, she received the news that her poem will be published in New York.
