Green Species by Pamella Dlungwana

Antiquated passions
soiled by the beat, beat
of time but not forgot.

Midnight adventures to
catch rainbows by starlight
bring me a unicorn’s horn
centre religions around me

Kneel not afore me
lest you affront my God;
but love me as sure as an infants’ cry is
a protestation to live this life,
beget and lose loves.
