Top-soil, rich
Lies beneath
My heaviness.
Damp and steaming
I swoosh arches like angels,
no, swamp monsters
into the lawn
who mildly share my complexion.
I make them crowns of wildflowers
Adorning their humble heads
With softer contours
Than their grotesque bodies allow.
Leaving the imprint of my shadow
Knighted and throned
With higher claims to greatness
Than my corporal abode.
