Poem

I want to say what the fxxx
Why are you asking about my insides
On Whatsapp
And we could be at brunch and you ask
How’s the car or did I get the results of my scan
Maybe you think I’m so scatter brained
Or avoidant of pain that I’d forget
Or think well it’s better than tubes and needles
You wouldn’t be wrong
Maybe it’s mum’s frailty
Or the birthday that has you so afraid
Of the future
