High Price by Laura Mostert

Poem

I took the coins
And gathered them round
And counted each one
Then filled my jar
For me this is a small start

Seeding for change
Avoiding the greed that capitalists feed
I just want to be free
And be my own man

In a moment
Here enters a thief
His blade pierces deep
Now I see it all
For this is the price of life
