I Seek Truth by Liya Bona

Liya Bona | June 1st, 2008 | poetry | No Comments

I seek truth.
She escapes me.
I seek spaces
To live my truth. I am
Surrounded
Imprisoned
In boxes too small
For my soul.
My words
Squeeze and scramble
Through dark cracks
To emerge as perverted
Half-truths
Used as crutches
For bigoted minds.
I seek love.
She eludes me
Revealing
Not emptiness but
Discernment –
Between faith and fallacy
I have found wisdom.
I am not lost
I am not yours
I am not mine
I just am.
