Jokerman by Paula Puolakka

Poem

The memories of yellow
– of kindness and mercy –
are the memories of you, my friend.
Soft clouds underfoot you roamed around like
Jokerman from Bob Dylan’s song.
Now, the ghosts of borrowed shoes are
the ones keeping company with
this Puss in Boots.

Dedicated to Mr. Kaczynski.
