Lesego Rampolokeng at Afrikan Freedom Station

So, it looks like it’s Lesego Rampolokeng week over at the Afrikan Freedom Station! *air-punch*

Afrikan Freedom Station has decided to celebrate the work of Lesego Rampolokeng with a series of events that begin tonight and end on Afrika Day (25 May). These events include a public lecture, a master class and a poetry session. The events will culminate with a performance by the grandmaster himself on Afrika Day.

This evening (22 May): Xoli Norman delivers a public lecture titled “Who is Lesego Rampolokeng?” There is no entrance, it starts at 7pm.

Tomorrow (23 May): a poetry masterclass with Lesego Rampolokeng titled “This Creative Life”. It costs R150 to register for the masterclass.

On Friday (24 May): The Bavino Session will feature lyricists and poets influenced by the work of Lesego Rampolokeng – “A lyrical and visual cypher”. Entrance is R50.

Then on Afrika Day (25 May): Lesego Rampolokeng will perform live with the General spinning on the decks!

Now, tell me you don’t want to be there…
