Poet Bio

We kept our soles clean
Every scratch was a reflection of how far we have come
Lanterns were singing lullabies of how deep darkness is
Maybe we should scatter the open fields and play dead among thorns

I wonder if my kids understand the pin of my life
Every code leads to an army unknown to me

We should take the easy way out and maybe we will find our path again
Our crying bodies have tainted every texture of guilt
Is it how we ought to surrender our humanity in exchange for pride
