Monster in the Room
Standing in a room
Full of joy and full of laughter
Who knew that the presence of one man could cause such mental exhaustion
I experienced a sudden mood change
Followed by a feeling of distress
My throat began to feel clogged
As if no air could pass the bass of my chest

My mind immediately goes blank
And my heart rate increases
Eye meets eye and my heart has been completely shattered to pieces
The facial expressions I expressed was a cry for help
The people they stared but they really could not see me
But why am I suffering?
Why do I feel so much guilt?
How does someone cope with such trauma
And why does he not feel a shred of guilt
Fully aware that he has to live the rest of his life knowing exactly what he did
