I sought for it,
I desired it,
With it I’ll be complete,
It came in bits,
It came in partial whole,
I wanted more,
Complete and total,
Fame and popularity,
These I craved for,
Wealth and power,
These I earnestly desired,
I want them at my beck and call,
I want to wake and see them,
Embrace every morning,
Bid farewell every night,
Open my door to see,
And close to see the same,
I worked tirelessly,
Until I saw all,
Not in parts,
But full,
The day after,
A day some time later,
I was despondent,
I was burdened,
Inside me,
Was a void,
Inside me,
Were cracks and fissures,
Wanting to be filled,
Yearning to be occupied,
Found that,
It wasn’t about amassing,
Realised,
It wasn’t about the influx,
It was about making it go round,
Touching lives,
In the little best way,
This gave happiness,
This brought me fulfilment.
