Never Enough by Mitja Lovše

Poem

There were many men on the road,
which should not shock our minds,
the gold rush was here.

They wished to go for broke in their quest,
no one of them bought into this motto
that the journey is the destination.

You’ve seen the movies where they talk of this?
I guess the reality felt much worse,
very few followed the riches.

The death put a lot of numbers up,
the shattered survived,
but at what cost?

They speak of the times they became greedy,
yet they plan to do this again.
