Not yet uhuru by Nkululeko Zondi

Poem

categorical freedom
coupled with capitalism
is not freedom at all

so-called political autonomy
intertwined with poverty
is not liberation

willing seller, willing
buyer blatantly negates
economic independence

undermining socialism
and egalitarianism
alienates collective humanity

perhaps democracy is
another euphemism for
apartheid and imperialism

maybe caps is another
jargon for bantu education

it was pigmentation
now it’s classification

it is not yet uhuru
