Of all the gifts
in all the years
that you’ve bestowed
through happy tears:
The rings and bracelets
watches, many,
the small glass owl,
the pressed penny,
sandy photos,
mountain views,
houses, cars,
and running shoes.
The shiny stone,
the golden band
mean most of all
for which they stand.
An endless circle,
a promise kept,
the days we laughed
the times we wept.
A thousand thanks
will never speak
of your constancy,
of strength when weak,
of binding up
when all came loose.
of saying yes,
you daily choose.
