Orwell’s Happy by Mitja Lovše

Poem

The Party protests
no one listen to what
the Party declares,
the economy is good.

The market persists,
the goods are being sold,
there are no lines and
anyone can get anything.

Potemkin goes home
as his job is safe again,
too bad about some,
but business is business.

‘Technology makes everything easier.’
‘Indeed, Mister Potemkin, indeed.’
